| Hi, Class of 1957. This web-page was started in Feb. 2000, to help us reconnect after so many years, by getting our names indexed on the WorldWideWeb. The idea was, any of us searching for some combination of: CI, CIHS, 1957, our own names, or the name of any of our classmates, would find this page. Some of us actually did connect this way. After making contact through this web page (and networking with friends who were still in touch), we started out with a casual luncheon at the Culinary Arts Restaurant (at NYIT Central Islip) where Gloria Lindgren met with Anna Kurtz, Lois Marhoun, Mary O'Connor and Eleanor Steckerider. We discussed the possibility of a class reunion after more than 40 years! John Buckley soon joined us and he advanced our dream of a reunion to the next level. He tracked down even more of us and researched the location and date for the reunion. We had several more lunch or brunch meetings, arranged by Anna Kurtz. We were soon joined by a number of local Long Islanders including Danny Devine, John Menechino, Ed Close, Sarah DiNicola, Joan McManus, Jeanne Grieshaber, Betty Kelly, Richard Parisi and Margaret Lenz when she was in town. Special thanks to John Buckley, who contacted so many of the classmates, maintained the list, sent updates via e-mail, and finally - after all those years - our dream of finally having our high school reunion became a reality!
On Saturday, September 27, 2003, our very first class reunion took place after 46 years from 7pm to 11pm at The Irish Coffee Pub, Carleton Avenue, East Islip, along with some of our teachers, namely, Mr. Markey and Doc Christian. It was a wonderful affair! Afterwards Jack and Pat Menechino invited us to continue the party at their lovely home in Islip, where we sang and talked, remembering the good old days and not wanting the night to end. |

** 50TH CLASS REUNION** JUNE 2007 OUR 50TH CLASS REUNION PLANS ARE NOW IN PLACE! Our 50th Class Reunion will be held at THE HILTON GARDEN INN, 3485 Veterans Memorial Highway, Ronkonkoma NY 11779 (631) 738-7800 at 7 PM on Saturday June 23, 2007 starting with a delicious Buffet Dinner. There will be a Brunch the following day, Sunday, June 24 from 10 AM to 1 PM. Rooms can be reserved for us at a reduced rate. As a special treat, we will be included in the CIHS Class of 2007 Graduation which is held on Friday night, June 22nd at 7 PM at CIHS. Anna Kurtz along with Lois Marhoun and Eleanor Steckerider have planned this event and Anna is the contact person. You can email Anna at nanyaya@aol.com If you can be here for all three days, Anna has planned for our class to be honored along with the CIHS graduation class of 2007 on Friday night, at which time they will announce our 50th! |
